Talent Africa Group was awarded as the best Rap Fusion of the year in the just concluded MTN Hip Hop awards for the Nalubaale project, a project named after Lake Victoria’s native name, Nalubaale with the aim of promoting tourism through music.

The fifth edition of the awards, organized by MTN Uganda and The Tribe Ug were held on Sunday the 16th of May, at Motiv, in Industrial area. The awards seek to recognise the best hip hop releases and artists in Uganda, with one category allocated to East African rappers. 

With the UG Hip Hop Producer of the year, Lamara Sam aka Samurae at the helm, TAG Studios setup a mobile studio on the Mvule Boat during the Covid-19 lock down in 2020 and produced a masterpiece showcasing the beauty and pride of the second largest freshwater lake in the world- famously known as Lake Victoria.

TAG Studios A&R Kella McKenzie brought together an all-star cast that is  Navio, The Mith, Lillian Mbabazi, Flex D’Paper, Beenie Gunter, Tucker HD, King Hanny, MC Yallah, Herbert Ssensamba and Lamu to collaborate on this project with the scenic video directed by Cyril De

The other nominees in the same category included Amaaso (Urban Remix) by Vinka, Winnie Nwagi, Fefe Busi ,the Mith & Dj Harold, Banji by Navio featuring Daddy Andre & Flex D’ Paper and Zina Keya by Nemesis & Zex Bilanjilanji.

While receiving the award, Talent Africa Group CEO who was also the executive producer of the Nalubaale project – Aly Allibhai expressed his gratitude to the artists and team who took part in the project amidst a pandemic.
